Ingredients

  • 8 oz dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch round cake pan and line with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and granulated sugar until fluffy. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gently combine the melted chocolate mixture with the egg mixture.
  5. Sift and fold in cocoa powder until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Allow to cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar.
