  • 8 oz rigatoni pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef or sausage
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef or sausage; cook until browned.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and let simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine cooked rigatoni with ricotta cheese until well-coated.
  6. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the pasta mixture followed by half of the meat sauce. Top with one cup of mozzarella cheese and repeat layers.
