Ingredients

  • Heavy Whipping Cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Mix the vanilla cake batter according to package instructions. Divide evenly between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool.
  3. For the cheesecake layer, beat cream cheese until smooth, gradually adding sugar. Mix in sour cream and vanilla extract. Pour into a greased springform pan and bake at 325°F (160°C) for 45-50 minutes until set but slightly jiggly in the center. Cool completely.
  4. To prepare the ganache, heat heavy whipping cream until simmering, then pour over chocolate chips. Let sit for 5 minutes before stirring until smooth.
  5. Assemble the dessert by layering one cake layer on a serving plate, followed by the cheesecake, then topping with the second cake layer.
  6. Pour warm ganache over the assembled cake, allowing it to drip down the sides. Chill for at least one hour before serving.
