  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chunks (semi-sweet or dark)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix this dry mixture into the creamed butter until combined.
  4. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and roll them into smooth balls; place them on ungreased baking sheets about two inches apart.
  5. Press your thumb gently into the center of each ball to create an indentation.
  6. Fill each thumbprint with chocolate chips before baking for 10-12 minutes or until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  7. Cool on wire racks before serving.
