  • 1 cup high-quality honey
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts or almonds
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Carefully unroll the phyllo dough and cover with a damp towel. Layer six sheets in the greased dish, brushing each with melted butter.
  3. In a bowl, mix chopped nuts, sugar, and cinnamon until combined. Spread half the mixture over the phyllo layers.
  4. Add three more phyllo sheets brushed with butter, then top with the remaining nut mixture.
  5. Finish with several layers of phyllo, brushing each with butter.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While baking, prepare honey syrup by heating honey with a splash of water until blended; pour over the pie immediately after removing from the oven.
