Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining warm milk and yeast in a small bowl; let it sit until frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix flour and granulated sugar. Create a well in the center and add melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and the yeast mixture.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Punch down the risen dough and roll it out to ½ inch thickness. Cut out circles using a donut cutter.
- Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C) and fry each donut until golden brown (about 1 minute per side).
- Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar with enough milk for a smooth consistency. Dip warm donuts into the glaze.
