- 9 lasagna noodles (no-boil)
- 2 cups ricotta cheese (whole milk)
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 lb ground beef (lean)
- 4 cups marinara sauce
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves (chopped)
- 2 large eggs
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce; let simmer for about 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with eggs and salt; add fresh basil if desired.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of a baking dish. Layer noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, followed by mozzarella and Parmesan. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with sauce and mozzarella on top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
