  • 9 lasagna noodles (no-boil)
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese (whole milk)
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb ground beef (lean)
  • 4 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves (chopped)
  • 2 large eggs
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce; let simmer for about 15 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with eggs and salt; add fresh basil if desired.
  4. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of a baking dish. Layer noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, followed by mozzarella and Parmesan. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with sauce and mozzarella on top.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Let rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
