  • 8 slices rye bread
  • 1 pound corned beef, sliced
  • 1 cup sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Thousand Island dressing
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Layer half of the rye bread at the bottom of the dish.
  3. Spread half of the corned beef over the bread, followed by half of the sauerkraut.
  4. Drizzle with half of the Thousand Island dressing and sprinkle with half of the Swiss cheese.
  5. Repeat the layers with remaining ingredients: rye bread, corned beef, sauerkraut, dressing, and top with cheese.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before slicing into squares and serve warm.
