- 8 slices rye bread
- 1 pound corned beef, sliced
- 1 cup sauerkraut, drained
- 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Thousand Island dressing
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened

- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer half of the rye bread at the bottom of the dish.
- Spread half of the corned beef over the bread, followed by half of the sauerkraut.
- Drizzle with half of the Thousand Island dressing and sprinkle with half of the Swiss cheese.
- Repeat the layers with remaining ingredients: rye bread, corned beef, sauerkraut, dressing, and top with cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing into squares and serve warm.
