  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (toasted if desired)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt with cold butter until crumbly. Press into an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  3. Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden; cool slightly.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. Fold in chopped pecans.
  5. Pour the filling over the cooled crust and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until set but still slightly wobbly.
  6. Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars.
