Easy to make and endlessly customizable, these sliders will charm your guests and tantalize their taste buds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 3 cups unbleached bread flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
  • 4 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Melted butter for brushing

Instructions

  1. 1. Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, mix warm water with sugar and yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. Make the Dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and spices. Gradually add the yeast mixture and pumpkin puree, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  3. 3. Knead the Dough: Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until elastic.
  4. 4. Shape into Buns: Divide dough into 12 pieces; roll into balls and flatten into pumpkin shapes, scoring lines for ridges if desired.
  5. 5. Let Them Rise: Place on parchment-lined baking sheets, cover with a towel, and let rise for about 30 minutes.
  6. 6. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush buns with melted butter and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
