- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb)
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 2 cups tomato sauce (marinara or homemade)
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 9 no-boil lasagna noodles
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Chop the chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the chicken until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic and cook for about one minute until fragrant, then stir in the tomato sauce and let simmer for five minutes.
- In a baking dish, layer as follows: spread some sauce on the bottom, add noodles, then layer with chicken mixture, mozzarella slices, and basil. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle Parmesan on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm.
