  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (divided)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion until translucent; add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed onions and garlic, breadcrumbs, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, half of the ketchup, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf in a greased loaf pan or on a lined baking sheet.
  5. Spread the remaining ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
