  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for filling)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened, optional)

Instructions

  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg, then mix in milk and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  5. Drop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto prepared sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes until puffed but soft.
  6. Let cool briefly before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. For the filling, beat together powdered sugar and softened butter (and cream cheese if using) until smooth.
