Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 2 cups tart apples (like Granny Smith), peeled and sliced
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
Instructions
- Warm milk in a saucepan until slightly hot but not boiling. Sprinkle yeast over the milk and let it sit until foamy.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter; mix until combined.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- While the dough rises, prepare the apple filling by tossing sliced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter over it, and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar.
- Distribute apple filling evenly on top, then roll up tightly from one edge. Slice into 12 equal pieces.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place rolls in a greased baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- For icing, mix powdered sugar with enough milk to achieve desired consistency; drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
